Last week, Providence School’s theater department presented Disney’s Beauty and the Beast directed by Mr. Scott Giddens. After months of hard work, late nights, and long hours, the cast finally took to the stage to rave reviews and a record-breaking audience of 2,500 people! “Absolutely amazing performances from the entire cast. These kids are simply amazing and the talent is superb!! This was like a professional Broadway Show” – N. Walker (Grandparent)
Everyone loved this musical! The costumes, songs, presentation, characters, and voices were absolutely incredible. The set was incredible! There was never a dull moment and the audience was kept laughing throughout the show.
Belle was played by Missy Soud (Jr.), the Beast by Spencer Maerkl (Sr.), and Gaston by Trey Murphy (Jr.). Belle’s voice projected across the stage and echoed in the auditorium. She played her part beautifully and made the perfect Belle. Spencer also did an incredible job as the Beast. And what a memorable performance by Gaston!
Some of the supporting characters such as the hillarious Lefou played by Elizabeth Nativi (Fr.), Maurice played by Jackson Adeeb (Sr.), Mrs. Potts played by Eliana Cooper (Sr.), and Chip played by Marco Hassan (7th), Lumiere played by Jeremy Rice (Sr.), Cogsworth played by Merrick Evans (Sr.) seemed to steal the show whenever they made their way on stage. The choreography, which was directed by Erick & Haley Sureda also went above and beyond. Be Our Guest was perfectly in sync with expressions and moves and they took this number to the next level.
This was truly one of the best musicals that has ever been produced at Providence. The entire Fine Arts Department would like to thank everyone who helped make this production possible including our sponsor Ullmann Wealth Partners. Make sure to support Providence School’s Fine Arts department by attending their productions and concerts!
There are two photo galleries. The Flickr gallery is free to our parents. We also had a professional photographer, John Fountain Photography, who took hundreds of beautiful photos for this production.
